Multi-entity and inter-entity accounting

Every entity. One platform.
Total control.

SumIt is built for multi-entity accounting from the ground up. Standardize your chart of accounts, manage transactions across entities in one place, automate inter-entity workflows, and generate consolidated reporting — all without the manual work traditional systems require.

How it works

From data input to multi-entity reporting — a clear path through your financial workflow.

Unified Chart of Accounts

One chart of accounts across every entity.

SumIt starts with a shared chart of accounts across all entities, creating consistency across your entire structure. Accounts can be toggled on or off by entity, giving you flexibility without losing standardization.

Because SumIt is built for multi-entity workflows, every interface lets you view and manage all entities at once.

Centralized Data Input

See every transaction in one place.

All transactions flow into a single workspace, where you can easily filter by entity, account, or workflow. Instead of managing transactions entity by entity, you can review everything together in one place.

From there, you can create rules that apply across all entities, automatically categorizing and preparing transactions as they come in. Once the rules are applied, you can bulk approve transactions and convert them into journal entries in seconds.

What normally requires repetitive manual work becomes a fast, rule-driven workflow across your entire entity structure.

Automated Inter-Entity Workflows

Handle due-to / due-from automatically.

Family offices often have one entity paying expenses on behalf of others. For example, Entity A may pay a legal bill that actually belongs to several other entities. Each entity should reflect its share of the legal expense, while also recording the amount owed back to Entity A.

In SumIt, you can select those transactions, and the system will automatically generate the corresponding journal entry pairs across entities, recording both the expense and the due-to / due-from relationship.

Because the system understands these relationships natively, it also knows what to eliminate during consolidation, preventing double-counting in your reports.

Query, Edit, and Report Across Entities

Turn your transaction data into answers instantly.

Once data is in SumIt, it lives inside the Register — a transaction database built from every journal entry. From there, you can filter, search, and analyze transactions across all entities to quickly answer questions from principals and stakeholders.

Need to make changes? You can bulk edit transactions across dozens of entities at once, saving hours of manual adjustments.

And when it’s time to report, multi-entity is built in. Generate a P&L or income statement across multiple entities with a single click, with the system automatically handling the complexity behind the scenes.

Testimonials

What Our Clients Are Saying

Our clients’ problems are our problems. We roll up our sleeves to help and solve them.

"SumIt has had a large impact on our operations. Specifically, it has freed up a lot of time for me to focus elsewhere. ‘Closing the quarter,’ as us accountants say, has been reduced by at least 10-15 days from what it used to be"

“SumIt stood out because it was clearly designed with the complexity of family offices in mind. It offered the right balance of structure and flexibility, the technology was clean, and the team behind it understood our challenges immediately. It didn’t feel like we had to adapt our workflows to fit the software; it felt like the software was already built around how we operate.”
